The digital age efforts for German Education and EdTech has been slow in classroom implementation.  There are some classrooms within Germany that are lucky to have so much as a singular computer as an available resource.  Over the past few years there has been a call within the region for more investments in the technology world.  As is in the United States and other regions within Europe, the feedback from the educators is mixed.  While there are some educators that support technology within the classroom, there are also those who disagree.  The reasoning seems to be the same as some teachers are excited to move into the future while others are untrained and uncomfortable with new technology.

Like the United States and other regions in Europe, Germany understands that EdTech within the country is expensive.  As you can see from my trends infographic, the pandemic has forced change, especially in the terms of cost.  The price tag for this technology comes at a significant cost in accounting for computers, internet access, hardware, software, digital teaching tools, and training for teachers on technology.  The future seems to lead that Germany is committed to the long-term project of increasing EdTech within the region.  The investment is significant but German schools in the future that do not possess competing technology will soon be considered schools that have fallen behind on the world stage.

The Information and Communications Technology investment within the country is robust.  Germany in fact has one of the largest and most competitive markets in the world.  As you can see from my tools section, the network and tools exist to leverage EdTech within the classroom.  The key to success in the future will be Germany's ability to bridge the existing ICT technology into EdTech within the classroom to keep its education system and students competitive both at home and internationally.
