IDE 712-Analysis for Human Performance technology

Course Overview:
IDE 712 focuses on analytical techniques that can be used to determine if an educational or training program is the most appropriate solution in a variety of educational and business situations. The process is referred to as Front-End Analysis (FEA). Joe Harless first used the term Front-End Analysis in 1969 in his publication “An Ounce of Analysis (Is Worth a Pound of Objectives).” This came from his finding that training often did not lead to desired results. Unless we understand the cause of a performance, our ID process may not develop an effective solution; whether it is instruction or some other solution. In this course you will learn various models for front-end analysis. Each of these involves investigating the nature of performance problems and determining whether causes are environmental, motivational, or a deficit in knowledge or skills.
